Conditions of hire
What You Need to Know
All hirers agree to the following conditions when submitting a booking request. These are drawn from the Journey Church Australia Inc. User Agreement.
- 1
A deposit bond of $300 AUD is required upon booking and is refundable at the end of the event once all conditions are met. Long-term arrangements (more than 3 months) require a $1,000 bond.
- 2
The hirer (LESSEE) is responsible for keeping the facility in a clean and tidy condition at all times, and must immediately clean any spillage or waste matter.
- 3
The hirer must provide adequate and responsible supervision to ensure the safety of the facility and all persons involved during the hire period.
- 4
All rubbish and garbage must be taken away by the hirer. No rubbish or garbage disposal is available on site.
- 5
The facility must be left tidy with bins emptied, doors securely closed and locked, and all lights and air conditioning turned off (or as directed by the facility coordinator).
- 6
Smoking, alcohol, and drugs are not permitted within or on church grounds.
- 7
The hirer must avoid any noise or action which will interfere with neighbours, or any action contrary to the Church's reputation or activities in the community.
- 8
Any damage to the facility during the hire period is the hirer's responsibility. The hirer shall pay the church the full cost of any damages arising from their occupancy.
- 9
The hirer must comply with all government health requirements (e.g. COVID-19 protocols), safety rules, and evacuation plans in existence at the time of hire.
- 10
Property owned by the hirer and brought into the facility is at the hirer's sole risk and is not covered by any church insurance.
- 11
The right to use the facility does not grant access to any other part of the building, structure, or improvement built in or near the facility.
- 12
The hirer may not use any equipment in the facility unless specifically authorised in the agreement, and only in accordance with the terms and restrictions specified by the Church.
- 13
The hire agreement cannot be assigned, transferred, sublet, or granted to any other person. The rights are personal to the hirer only.
- 14
Journey Church Australia reserves the right to terminate the agreement at any time for breach of conditions, or at the Church's own discretion, by written notice effective immediately.
- 15
Termination by the hirer must be given in written notice with at least 48 hours' notice.
